Ok, so it’s Microsoft, and it’s halfway to marketing, but being a product manager and evangelist for Microsoft SQL Server seems like it could be an interesting gig. In particular:
- Evangelize strategic product positioning and information of SQL Server to customers in leveraged marketing and sales opportunities. These will include press initiatives, public relations, seminars and solutions briefings, and high profile trade/industry events.
- Be the internal and external spokesperson for the platform, products, solutions and market issues.
The compensation and benefits side has been partially detailed, but more would be nice. There isn’t much about the company, although, I guess people are expected to know who Microsoft is, and maybe be able to imagine what it’s like to work there. The technology — well, it’s SQL Server, and you’re not developing it, you’re evangelizing it.
